Driver Gives Finger to Off-Duty Norwalk Cop, Dares Him to Catch Him, Cop Does: Report

The allegedly erratic driver from New Milford also had a small child in his vehicle.

NORWALK, CT — An erratic driver allegedly gave the finger to an off-duty Norwalk cop in September, daring the officer to catch him, so the officer did just that and arrested him this week, reports The Hour.

New Milford resident Andrew Sheppard, 25, also had a small child in the vehicle when he was speeding and driving erratically in Norwalk on Gristmill Road on Sept. 22 when the officer saw him, police said. When the officer, whose identity was not disclosed, told Sheppard who he was, Sheppard allegedly said Norwalk police would not find him and he sped off, flipping the bird in the process.

The officer took note of the license plate and obtained a warrant for Sheppard's arrest on charges of risk of injury to a minor and reckless driving. He was picked up by Wilton police on Wednesday and turned over to Norwalk police, where Sheppard also received a charge of refusing to be fingerprinted, writes The Hour's Jarret Liotta.
