Driver Seriously Injured In Norwalk I-95 Crash: FD

Fire officials said a car struck a tractor trailer that was stopped in the breakdown lane on Interstate 95 in Norwalk.

NORWALK, CT — The Norwalk Fire Department responded to a single-car accident early Wednesday morning on Interstate 95 in Norwalk. According to a press release, a Toyota Corolla traveling south between Exits 14 and 13 struck a tractor trailer that was stopped in the breakdown lane at 1:15 a.m.

Deputy Chief Edward Prescott said the lone driver of the car, an approximately 30-year-old man, was found lying on the highway being assisted by other drivers. He was treated by firefighters and paramedics and transported to a hospital with serious injuries.

The southbound side of the highway was closed for about an hour as debris and both vehicles were removed.
