East Norwalk Train Station To Temporarily Close In March, Free Shuttle Offered
The East Norwalk train station will be temporarily closed in March, during which the city will offer a free shuttle service.
NORWALK, CT — The state Department of Transportation announced Friday the East Norwalk train station will be temporarily closed for about three weeks next month, during which the city will offer a free shuttle service.
According to the city's Facebook page, the station will be closed March 11-31 due to state construction work related to the Walk Bridge Replacement Project, which includes improvements to the East Norwalk station.
Beginning March 11, the Norwalk Transit District will provide a free shuttle service that will operate Monday through Friday during the three-week closure.

The shuttle will travel between the East Norwalk and South Norwalk train stations six times in the morning and eight times in the late afternoon and evening during the temporary closure, according to the city.
The shuttle will pick riders up in East Norwalk at the Roger Square Norwalk Transit District bus shelter across from the cemetery on Gregory Boulevard.

The shuttle departures and arrivals will be timed with the Metro-North railroad schedule, city officials said. The full schedule can be found here.
East Norwalk station parking permit holders can also access the South Norwalk train station garage at no additional cost during the three-week closure, according to the city. Parking permits will not be honored at the Westport station.
