Easton Man Dies In Drowning Incident In Norwalk: Police
The incident occurred Sunday night on the Norwalk River.
NORWALK, CT — A 62-year-old Easton man drowned Sunday night after slipping as he tried to go from a boat to the dock at Selleck Street along the Norwalk River, according Norwalk police.
Jozef Gorski was pronounced dead at Norwalk Hospital following the 9:24 p.m. incident.
Members of the Norwalk police and fire departments, and Norwalk Hospital EMS, responded to the scene on a report of a male that fallen into the Norwalk River and had not surfaced.

"Arriving first responders began a search for the male," stated Norwalk Police Lt. Terrence Blake. "The Stamford Fire Department responded to the scene with their on-duty dive personnel. Stamford Fire dive personnel located the male underwater and brought him to the surface, where he was transferred to the care of EMS."
Norwalk detectives are investigating the incident and are awaiting the findings of the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

"Witnesses at the scene stated that Mr. Gorski appeared to slip while stepping off a boat onto the dock," said Blake.
