Eileen Kennedy, 90, of Norwalk: School Secretary

She passed away July 11.

Eileen L. Kennedy, age 90 of Norwalk, died peacefully at Wilton Meadows on Saturday, July 11, 2015. She was the loving wife for 55 years of Paul J. Kennedy, Jr.

Eileen was born in Port Chester, NY on August 30, 1924, the daughter of the late William and Ellen Guckian Lawlor. She was a graduate of Port Chester High School, class of 1941 and the College of New Rochelle, Class of 1945. Eileen was retired from the Norwalk Board of Education where she had been a secretary in the Music and Science Department and also the Professional Library. She loved reading and being with her family. All she wanted was to be was a devoted wife and mother in life, which she was and will be dearly missed. Survivors include three sons, Brian J. Kennedy of Norwalk, John P. Kennedy and his wife Lynne of San Diego, CA, Lawrence W. Kennedy and his wife Judith of Clark’s Summit, PA, two grandsons and their wives and sons, Patrick and Andrea Kennedy, great grandson Declan, Paul and Kate Kennedy, great grandson Charles, all of Boston, MA, nieces, nephews and 2nd cousins in Ireland. Eileen was also predeceased by her siblings Mary Lawlor, Margaret Reilly and William Lawlor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 20, 10 AM at St. Jerome Church, 23 Half Mile Rd., Norwalk, with burial to follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Greenwich. Eileen’s family will receive friends at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk on Sunday from 3-6 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to The Hole in the Wall Gang Fund., 555 Long Wharf Dr, New Haven, CT 06511, or to St. Jerome Church.
