NORWALK, CT — A Monroe woman accused of stealing over $150,000 from her Norwalk employer was arrested Monday, according to police.

In a news release, Police Lt. Joe Dinho said the department began investigating a reported theft from a Norwalk business by an employee in November.

A lengthy and detailed investigation revealed Marisol Ameziane, 37, of Monroe, stole over $156,000 from her employer, Dinho said.

Police obtained an arrest warrant for Ameziane, who turned herself into police Monday, Dinho said.

Ameziane was charged with first-degree larceny and five counts of third-degree forgery. Her bond was set at $250,000 and she is scheduled to appear in court in May, according to Dinho.
