Norwalk, CT, August 21 2012 – In memory of three young and artistically gifted children who lost their lives last year to a tragic Christmas Eve fire at their home in Stamford, Norwalk Artists and local entrepreneurs will host ART N’ BLOOM in their honor on September 13. St. Philip Artists Guild (SPAG) and The Silk Touch, a Norwalk floral designer have joined together, in sponsorship with the Norwalk Arts Commission to provide an evening of professional art, entertainment, and music for the LilySarahGraceFund, a non-profit foundation created in memory of the Badger family, whose three daughters and grandparents perished in the accidental blaze. The money raised will be earmarked for the Norwalk public schools. Matthew Badger, their father will be the honorary guest.

ART N’ BLOOM will showcase the talented work of 13 Norwalk artists, members of SPAG, complimented by individual floral arrangements designed by The Silk Touch in a beautiful gallery setting at the Manice Lockwood Mansion on 25 France Street in Norwalk. The free event, which is open to the public will be held on Thursday evening, September 13 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. and will feature wine tastings, cuisine from local restaurants and caterers, crafts by local vendors, and music, compliments of Norwalk’s Talent Education Suzuki School (TESS) and its gifted students, under the direction of founder and music director, Becki Christopherson.

Donations collected at the event will be given to the LilySarahGraceFund, whose mission is to challenge and empower classroom teachers in underfunded public schools to use the creative arts to enhance their core curriculum. All ART N’ BLOOM donations, which can be made directly to an online fund, will be used exclusively to support Norwalk Public elementary schools.

“Art is a powerful teaching tool, that as a collaborative effort with other subjects fills the classroom with exciting projects that inspire students’ passion for learning,” says Danna DiElsi, Owner of The Silk Touch. “We are deeply honored to be hosting this event for such a worthy cause that will greatly benefit the Norwalk Public Schools.”

“SPAG is always open to helping those in need and bringing awareness of the guild to others,” commented David Morico, SPAG member.
