Kenneth Kuo, of Connecticut School of Music, invites the community to enjoy a chamber concert on April 29 at the Unitarian Church in Westport.
The 3 p.m. performance is dedicated to Kuo's friend, Yekutiel (Kuti) Zeevi, the Westport jeweler who was killed during a robbery last December.

“The Zeevis were the first family I met when I came to America,” says Kuo, a native of Taiwan. “I became very close with them while I attended the Manhattan School of Music. Kuti's son, Neer, and I practiced together and Kuti's wife, Nava, would accompany us on the piano.”
He adds, "The Zeevi family is also responsible for bringing me to Westport after graduating Yale University, so, to me, they are just like family."

Zeevi’s widow, and son will both perform in the concert. "Neer, a cellist, and Nava will be on stage, performing with myself and and all the faculty members at CSM," Kuo says.
The concert will includes songs that meant something to Kuti, notes Kuo. “David Popper’s 'Requiem,' which honors the dead, will be among the performances. Kuti also loved American jazz, especially Ray Charles, and will perform some of his favorite songs.”
The concert is open to the public at no charge.
