Fairfield County Children's Choir presents Broadway Concert and Auction "Anything Goes"

Fairfield County Children’s Choir Toasts 2012 with a Salute to Broadway  

The widely acclaimed Fairfield County Children’s Choir will kick off 2012 with a Broadway Concert and Auction on Saturday, Feb. 4th at 7 p.m. at the Norwalk Concert Hall.

 From the opening strains of "Oh What A Beautiful Morning" from Oklahoma to the closing lines of "Who Loves You Pretty Baby" from Jersey Boys, this popularannual revue  is full of all-time classics, including "People Will Say We're In Love," "The Surrey With the Fringe on Top," "I Get A Kick Out of You," It's De-Lovely," "The Major-General's Song" and "Can't Take My Eyes Off of You”. All songs will be accompanied by the FCCC orchestra ensemble and will feature many of the best student soloists in the state. The concert also includes both a silent and live auction, beginning at 5:30pm, featuring a myriad of items for sale including autographed NHL jerseys, vacation rentals, movie nights, spa/beauty treatments, gift baskets,karate lessons, and tickets to major sporting events.

The Fairfield County Childrens Choir, conducted by Jon Noyes, Lisa Bettke, Cindy Holberg and Kevin Cotellese, is a community-based choral program made up of over

300 children in grades 4 through 12 from communities in Fairfield County and beyond.

The FCCC program provides instruction in vocal technique, choral technique, music literacy and the appreciation of music through the practice and performance of great choral repertoire.

The FCCC has performed throughout New England as well as in New York, Philadelphia, Washington, DC, Maryland, New Orleans, San Francisco, Oakland and (this past summer) Canada. They have shared  the stage with such artists as Renee Fleming, Charles Strouse, Stephen Schwartz, Lawrence  Gilgore, Sam Waterston, Nick Page, Bob Chilcott, Jean Ashworth Bartle, Rob Hugh and Dianne Legro.   Last fall, the choir performed “O Canada” at the NHL pre-season ice hockey game between the Islanders and the Bruins at the Webster Arena in Bridgeport.
