Fairfield County Children's Choir presents: Celebrating Composers Past & Present

Fairfield County Children’s Choir Celebrates Spring with Concert
With Spring comes all things fresh and alive, and the vibrant repertoire planned for Fairfield County Children’s
Choir’s spring performance is no exception. The FCCC will close its 17thseason with a celebration of “Composers Past & Present” scheduled for May 12th , 7pm at the Norwalk Concert Hall. The performance theme highlights and honors composers both from the past (Mozart,
Handel, Puccini) and the present (Chilcott, Dilworth). Representing contemporary composers will be special guest Robert Hugh, who wrote 6 of the pieces in the Choir’s program, including a premiere piece commissioned especially for the evening. An extra bonus for this concert will be songs composed by the FCCC’s own Morgan Morse and Raeann Fetcho, both members of the choir.
The program will feature a robust mix of pieces old and new across a wide spectrum of genres, including
opera, folk, gospel, and Renaissance. There’s sure to be something for everybody as the FCCC dips into traditional favorites like “O Mio Babbino Caro” and “Shenandoah”, while venturing forth boldly in new directions with
Robert Hugh’s “Once More to the Sea” and “The Cliffs of Dooneen”.
The Fairfield County Children’s Choir, conducted by Jon Noyes, Lisa Bettke, Cindy Holberg and Kevin Cottolese, is a community-based choral program made up of over 300 children in grades 4 through 12 from communities in Fairfield County and beyond.
