The Theatre Artists Workshop of Norwalk CT enters its historic 30th Anniversary season. As the celebratory year kicks off for TAW, the first presentation is its acclaimed Annual Playwrights Festival which the company has been producing for over two decades now.
This year, the Playwright’s Festival takes place at the Theatre Artists Workshop, 5 Gregory Blvd, on Friday and Saturday, October 19 and 20, at 8pm and on Sunday, October 21 at 3pm.
For over 20 years TAW has presented a collection of some of the finest and most diverse works by many of its talented writers, each a vital member of the company. This year seven dynamic short plays were chosen after a lengthy pre-performance and review period. The plays that were chosen, and their respective topics and styles, couldn’t be more diverse and passionate if they tried. The playwrights: Steve Bellwood, Vanessa David, Rosemary Foley, Jim Gordon (2 plays), Kathy Rinaldi, and Jack Rushen, are all accomplished writers whose works have been professionally produced on stage in theatre festivals and main stage theatre companies ranging from New York City to Toronto, across the U.S., and internationally as well.
