NORWALK (November 2, 2011) Students in Norwalk Community College’s Special Topics in History: The United States During World War II class will welcome a small group of World War II veterans on Wednesday, November 9, from 11:30 a.m. until 12:50 p.m.
This special class session will be held in the GenRe Forum located on the first floor of the East campus. The event is open to the public, but seating will be limited. The event is sponsored by NCC’s Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences.
A new class at NCC this semester, Special Topics in History: The United States During World War II is a three-credit course taught by Professor Steve Berizzi. The class coincides with the 70th anniversary of the world crisis that led to the Pearl Harbor attack in Hawai’i on December 7, 1941.
Professor Berizzi has invited the WWII veterans to speak about their recollections of the momentous occurrences surrounding World War II from 1939 until 1945, with the class. Students will have a rare and unique opportunity to learn about one of the defining events of the twentieth century, from people who served in the armed forces and are now part of history.
WWII veterans who currently reside in lower Fairfield County will be among the guest speakers.
