Parents of children with mental illness will learn when residential placement is the right step, how to initiate the process and what types of programs are available and appropriate for their child, including therapeutic boarding schools, residential treatment centers, wilderness and emotional growth programs.

Speakers will be: Laura Seese, PhD., educator, consultant and special education advocate and Melanie Dunn, special education attorney with over ten years experience in education law. They will discuss legal issues and recourse, costs and funding options, program evaluation, and strategies for working with school districts.

The presentation will take place February 11, 7:30 to 9 at Tully Health Center, Conf Rm B, 32 Strawberry Hill CT, Stamford.
