Exterminator Dealing with Bed Bugs at Norwalk Housing Authority Property

An exterminator is working to rid the Norwalk Housing Authority Senior Housing property of bed bugs.

Bed bugs are an issue at the 20 West Ave. property.

Multi-unit buildings are more difficult to treat, the Norwalk Health Department told the Norwalk Hour.

Something as simple as a tenant bringing in infested furniture from outside could spell trouble for several units, said Dan Williamson, NHA director of maintenance.

An exterminator used a 200-degree steam device on Jan. 8 inside at least one woman’s unit.
