Extrication Needed After 1-Vehicle Crash In Norwalk: Fire Department
The crash occurred Sunday afternoon on Gardner Street.
NORWALK, CT — A woman suffered injuries Sunday afternoon in a one-vehicle crash on Gardner Street in Norwalk, according to fire officials.
The woman, in her late-50s and whose identity was not released, had to be extricated from her station wagon and was transported to Norwalk Hospital. She was semi-conscious when firefighters arrived, said fire officials, but her current condition is not known.
The crash occurred at the Walgreens Pharmacy at the corner of West Avenue and Gardner Street. Officials said the woman "lost control [of the vehicle] on Gardner Street, sideswiped a tree and came to rest 2 inches from the side of the building."

No one else was in the vehicle and no other injuries were reported. Firefighters had to remove the front and rear passenger doors to help remove the woman out the back door, according to officials.
"Norwalk Police are investigating the cause of the accident."
