Firefighters Respond To 2 Shed Fires In Norwalk: FD

NORWALK, CT — Firefighters extinguished two separate shed fires in Norwalk within a day of each other, according to fire officials.

In a news release, Deputy Chief Michael McCallum said crews were called to a building fire on Thistle Road around 1:30 p.m. Christmas Day.

The blaze began in a storage shed in the backyard of the property, McCallum said. Over 20 firefighters worked to extinguish the fire in about 25 minutes.

No injuries were reported, however all of the property owner's belongings were destroyed, McCallum said. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

In a separate news release, Assistant Fire Chief Edward McCabe said crews were called to extinguish a fire that broke out Monday around 11 a.m. in a shed on Fairview Avenue.

The fire was extinguished within 15 minutes, McCallum said. No injuries were reported.
