Fred Wilms Seeks To Win Back State Representative Post

Wilms, a Republican, held the 142nd District seat for two terms before losing to Democrat Lucy Dathan in 2018.

NORWALK, CT — Fred Wilms, a Republican and banking executive, this week announced his candidacy to run for his former state representative post representing the 142nd District that covers parts of Norwalk and New Canaan.

Wilms held the seat for two terms before losing to Democrat Lucy Dathan in 2018. He announced his intention on his Facebook page, and said he has received endorsements from Republican state Rep. Gail Lavielle and state House GOP leader Themis Klarides.

"I want to bring my strong finance background and fresh perspective to get Connecticut growing again," he wrote, and told the Norwalk Hour that his loss in 2018 was an "aberration."
