Frontier Communications Relocating Norwalk HQ To Texas

The company plans to relocate its headquarters from Norwalk to Texas, however it will still "maintain a strong presence in Connecticut."

NORWALK, CT — Frontier Communications announced this week plans to relocate its Norwalk-based headquarters to Dallas, Texas.

According to a news release, Dallas' central location will make it easier for the Internet service provider to stay connected to its customers and manage its national operations.

Frontier's current headquarters is located at 401 Merritt 7 in Norwalk. The company did not provide a timeline for when the move to Texas will take place.

"It's official – Dallas is now home base for Building Gigabit America," Frontier CEO Nick Jeffery said in a news release. "Moving our headquarters to Dallas makes good business sense given the city is already home to hundreds of our corporate employees and sits in the middle of one of our most important fiber markets. With a fast-growing economy and large, diverse pool of talent, Dallas is quickly becoming one of the nation's top business cities. We're proud to be part of it."

Despite the move, Frontier officials emphasized the company plans to maintain a strong presence in Connecticut and is committed to expanding its fiber network across the state, as well as continuing to rely on its union workforce to serve homes and businesses that utilize Frontier.

About 300 employees currently work at the company's Merritt 7 headquarters, a 1.4 million-square-foot complex. Although the company is not offering relocation packages, workers will be allowed to stay in Connecticut and work remotely, The Norwalk Hour reports.

As part of its relocation, the company is investing in a new 95,000-square-foot office space in uptown Dallas, which it has dubbed "the GigaHub." The city is already home to the company's CEO, executive leadership team and hundreds of corporate employees.

"When we bring fiber internet to a community, we connect people to the next generation of technology and empower them to create a better future," Jeffery said. "We're committed to expanding access to our high-speed fiber broadband to homes and businesses across the state of Texas."
