Garbage, Recycling Collection Canceled In Norwalk Due To Weather: City

City officials said garbage and recycling collection scheduled for Jan. 26, 2026, has been canceled "due to inclement weather."

NORWALK, CT — Garbage and recycling collection scheduled for Monday in Norwalk has been canceled "due to inclement weather," according to the city.

In a Facebook post, city officials said garbage and recycling collection will resume Tuesday, and collection services for the remainder of the week will operate on a one-day delay.

  • Monday collections will be serviced on Tuesday (Jan. 27)
  • Tuesday collections will be serviced on Wednesday (Jan. 28)
  • Wednesday collections will be serviced on Thursday (Jan. 29)
  • Thursday collections will be serviced on Friday (Jan. 30)
  • Friday collections will be serviced on Saturday (Jan. 31)

The city's transfer station and yard waste site are both closed Monday and will reopen Tuesday, according to the city.

City officials also noted a potential 2-hour collection delay was possible for Tuesday, which would be announced ahead of time.
