GE Announces Norwalk Layoffs

Layoffs will affect the Norwalk office as new CEO John Flannery works to boost the company's profits.

NORWALK, CT — GE announced that it plans to layoff 80 employees form its digital unit starting in January 2018.

The company announced earlier this year that it plans to cut workers from its new Boston headquarters. New CEO John Flannery has been working aggressively to cut areas that aren't turning a profit, according to Reuters.

GE filed paperwork with the state Department of Labor that said layoffs would begin on Jan. 30.
