High-Water Rescue Vehicle Purchased By Norwalk Fire: Report

The vehicle will be able to help firefighters get citizens stranded by floodwaters to safety.

NORWALK, CT — On Tuesday, the Norwalk Fire Department purchased a 2.5-ton military cargo vessel to be used for high-water rescues, the Norwalk Hour reported. The vehicle was purchased through a military surplus buying program.

According to the Hour, the vehicle will be able to help get citizens stranded by floodwaters during severe weather events to safety. The department took possession of the truck from the Maryland National Guard.
