NORWALK, CT — Plans to distribute at-home coronavirus test kits to Norwalk residents Friday have been postponed due to shipping delays, according to city officials.

In an email Thursday afternoon, city spokesperson Josh Morgan said the city has not received confirmation from the state that a shipment of at-home rapid COVID-19 tests will be arriving in time for the planned distribution event Friday at Calf Pasture Beach, which has been postponed.

The state has also not provided an updated time frame of when these test kits are expected to arrive or when they will be distributed to municipalities as of Thursday afternoon, Morgan noted.

Morgan said the city will share additional updates regarding the test kits as soon as they have them.

The postponement comes following Gov. Ned Lamont's announcement Wednesday evening that the state's anticipated shipment of COVID-19 at-home rapid tests were delayed on the west coast.
