Several houses in Norwalk were evacuated after contractors hit a gas line.

NORWALK, CT — Several houses in Norwalk were evacuated after constractors hit a gas line Tuesday, the Norwalk Hour reported. The incident occurred around 1:30 p.m.
Officials said contractors were working on The SoNo Collection when the lateral line was hit, according to the Norwalk Hour. As a result, several houses along Putnam Avenue needed to be evacuated until the valve could be located and turned off.
