Update: City officials announced around 11 a.m. all lanes are back open on Interstate 95 near Norwalk, however the interstate is still backed up and congested.


NORWALK, CT — Exit 16 southbound of Interstate 95 is temporarily closed Friday morning due to flooding, according to city officials.

The closure was announced around 10 a.m. on the city's Facebook page just after heavy rainfall hit the area.

City officials noted the Connecticut Department of Transportation and state police are working to keep the area safe, with state police diverting traffic.
