Incarcerated Man Charged In Norwalk Robbery: Report

Police said an incarcerated Norwalk man has been charged in a convenience store robbery that occurred last year.

NORWALK, CT — Police said an incarcerated Norwalk man has been charged in a convenience store robbery that occurred last year, the Norwalk Hour reported. Police said the armed robbery took place Jan. 17, 2017,at Cumberland Farms.

According to the Hour, police said two armed men wearing ski masks entered the store shortly before closing and pistol whipped the clerk, then ran off with an undisclosed amount of cash. The clerk suffered non-life threatening head injuries as a result of the incident, police said.

Police said 24-year-old Jimmie Springer, who had previously been charged in a string of armed robberies, was arrested on a warrant Thursday on robbery and assault charges, according to the Hour.
