Jahtavius Ramon Derry earned his wings to glory at the tender age of 22 on Tuesday January 1, 2019. He was the beloved son of Leroy A. Derry Sr. and Tina M. Bruno.
Jahtavius was a lifelong resident of Norwalk, CT, attended the Norwalk Public School System and a graduate of Brien McMahon High School. Jahtavius was employed by various local establishments the most recent; Joe’s 507 Cafe. Jahtavius also known as “Jahgi” and “Jahn Roberts” had a passion for music, he loved hanging in the recording studio laying down tracks and was destined to be a great rapper, he also had a love for skateboarding and sports. Jaghi loved life, his siblings, and being in the company of his family and friends. Jahg was always willing and wanting to help others even if it meant neglecting himself. Jahgi was known for his infectious smile and goofy grin. Jahgi loved everyone and everyone loved Jahgi.
Jahtavius is predeceased by grandparents Joseph and Ramona Bruno, Sr., Eugene and Elizabeth Derry Sr., Joseph Bruno Jr. (uncle), James Derry Sr. (uncle), Barbara Roy-Sherwood (aunt/godmother), and Sean J. Roy (cousin/godbrother).

Jahtavius leaves to cherish his memories siblings’; Ariel Bruno, Francesca Delacruz, Josephine Delacruz all of Norwalk, CT, Jazleen Polk, Springfield, MA., Leroy A. Derry Jr. Bridgeport, CT, special siblings Danielle Pelletier and Francisco Delacruz Jr. He also leaves to cherish his memories two uncles Eugene Derry Jr. Stratford, CT and Frank Bruno Sr. Norwalk, CT, four aunts Debra Jackson, Elizabeth (Lil) Derry, both of Stratford, CT, Nicole Derry (Stamford, CT and Cynthia (James) Derry Norwalk, CT, two special father figures Jose (Chiro) Jimenez and Francisco (Cisco) Delacruz Sr.; and godfather Oswald Sherwood of McDonough GA., a special aunt Viola Gorham and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and a tremendous friend base.
Friends are invited to greet the family on Sunday January 6, 2019 from 4:00 until 6:00 pm in the Hoyt-Cognetta / Lesko Funeral Home, 5 East Wall Street in Historic Norwalk. A funeral service will take place on Monday January 7, 2019 10:00 am at Canaan Baptist Church, 31 Concord St. Norwalk. Interment will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Norwalk.
