Jury Finds Man Guilty Of Sexually Assaulting Child In Norwalk: Feds

A jury found a Florida man accused of sexually assaulting a child in Norwalk guilty this week, according to court officials.

NORWALK, CT — A Florida man accused of sexually assaulting a child in Norwalk was found guilty Wednesday by a Stamford superior court jury, Stamford/Norwalk State's Attorney Paul Ferencek announced.

In a news release, Ferencek said the jury found Eddie Gonzalez, 36, of Orlando, Fla., guilty of sexually assaulting a 6-year-old child in Norwalk in October 2018.

Evidence at the trial included witness testimony and DNA tests, Ferencek said.

The child reported the incident to her mother and grandparents the next day, and they contacted police, according to Ferencek.

Gonzalez was charged with first-degree sexual assault and two counts of risk of injury to a minor. He is scheduled for sentencing in January, according to Ferencek.
