Layoffs Announced At Norwalk Company

A total of 74 employees are expected to be laid off after the company was acquired.

NORWALK, CT — A Norwalk-based company will layoff 74 employees starting in mid-September after being acquired by another company.

Crius Energy Management was acquired by Vistra Energy Corp. on July 15.

"The integrated company has redesigned the Crius organization to create efficiencies and reduce costs, which will result in workforce reductions,"wrote Annette Underwood, director of employee relations in a letter to the state Department of Labor. "The decision to separate employees is always difficult, but it is necessary to position the company for the future."

Vistra Energy is an integrated energy company based in Texas and is one of the largest residential electricity providers in the country. It serves about 3.7 million residential, commercy and industrial customers with electricity and gas, according to the company's profile.
