Learn How to Fit a Child Safety Seat at Norwalk Police Demonstration
The Norwalk police workshop is scheduled for February

NORWALK, CT — The Norwalk Police Department will host a "Child Safety Seat Fitting Day" on Sunday February 19, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at its headquarters at 1 Monroe St., organizers announced.
Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians will conduct free inspections - by appointment only via jhaggerty@norwalkct.org - and instruct parents on achieving the proper fit.
"Road injuries are the leading cause of unintentional deaths to children in the United States," wrote organizers in a statement. "Correctly used child safety seats can reduce the risk of death by as much as 71 percent. Safe Kids Fairfield County reports 73 percent of car seats are not used or installed correctly."
