Legendary CT Sports Anchor Finds New TV News Role: Report

Rich Coppola had worked for Fox61 for 30 years.

Legendary Connecticut sports anchor Rich Coppola, who left Fox61 last summer after 30 years, has joined WTNH-TV in a news-only role, writes The Laurel.

Rumors of Coppola joining News 8 reportedly had been circulating for months, and in a recent memo to staff, obtained by The Laurel, WTNH news director Chuck Carter welcomed him to the team.

Coppola's new assignment will have him "fronting local content" for the next few weeks, according to Carter.
