Event will take place on November 8th at 6:00 PM at West Rocks Middle School, 81 West Rocks Road, Norwalk, CT.

The Courage to Speak® Foundation’s new drug prevention education parenting program Courage to Speak®-Courageous Parenting 101 “Parenting Through the Opioid Crisis and Beyond” ™, is designed to address the current opioid epidemic and is offered FREE to parents in the community. The Courage to Speak drug prevention education program for parents is for parents from all communities with children in Elementary, Middle and High School wishing to arm themselves with the knowledge of how to keep their children safe.

The course will be taught in English by Carlos Reinoso Jr., MSMOL, BHCC. As a prelude to the course, Ginger Katz, CEO and Founder of the Courage to Speak® Foundation and author of Sunny's Story- A drug prevention book will deliver the Courage to Speak Presentation/

Courage to Speak - Courageous Parenting 101® “Parenting Through the Opioid Crisis and Beyond” ™ will cover:

• Addiction and its physiological consequences
• Effective communication and listening strategies, warning signs and symptoms of drug use
• Communication and listening strategies
• Practical steps if you suspect drug use
• Helping your child handle stress
• Understanding denial around children and drugs
• Dangers of enabling and hands-off parenting
• Marijuana’s link to opioid abuse
• Prescription drug information
• Parenting styles, resources, and much more!
