Lineup Announced For Make Music Day In Norwalk
The day will consist of free, non-ticketed music events happening all over Norwalk. Here's what you need to know.
NORWALK, CT — Norwalk is set to participate in Make Music Day, an annual global celebration of music occurring on the summer solstice. The celebration is set to take place Friday, June 21, with over 5,000 free indoor/outdoor concerts, music lessons, jam sessions and other magnificent music-making events being held in more than 80 cities across the country.
According to a press release, the event is a worldwide phenomenon observed by hundreds of millions of people in more than 1,000 cities in 120 countries. Norwalk's celebration is spearheaded by the Wall Street Neighborhood Association and supported by Norwalk Now.
The day will consist of free, non-ticketed music events happening all over Norwalk. The city recently announced its preliminary music line-up via Norwalk Now, which includes:

"When I became aware of Make Music Day I asked 'Why not Norwalk?' We have more live music here than practically any other city in Connecticut," Wall Street Neighborhood Association spokesman and Norwalk Arts Commission Co-Chair Marc Alan said in a release. "Make Music Day is going to consist of free, non-ticketed music events happening all over the city. Everything from solo instrumentalists, singer-songwriters, vocal groups, classical ensembles, music students - you name it - in every possible style, by musicians from all walks of life, from kids and hobbyists to professional touring artists. It's a city-wide celebration of music!"
