Local Oncologists receive Heroes for Hope Award

Dr. Richard Zelkowitz receives award for compassionate cancer care along with Dr. Paul Weinstein and Dr. Beverly Drucker

Drs. Richard Zelkowitz (Norwalk Hospital), Beverly Drucker (Greenwich Hospital), and Paul Weinstein (Bennett Cancer Center/Stamford Health) and were honored for their outstanding cancer patient care and dedication to oncology with the Heroes for Hope award Sunday November 4th at the 3rd Annual ICRF Heroes for Hope. The evening was attended by over 160 guests and raised over $150,000 for cancer research in Israel. Dr. Mark Israel, National Executive Director of ICRF and Distinguished Chair in Medicine, Dartmouth Medical School Emeritus and Andrew Faas, TEDx speaker addressed the audience. Dr. Leslie Freedman was Master of Ceremonies for the evening.

The honored doctors were featured in a video shown to the guests and funds were raised towards a cancer research grant for an Israeli scientist.
