Longtime Norwalk School Athletic Director Set To Retire: Report

NORWLAK, CT — Longtime Brien McMahon High School Athletic Director Joe Madaffari is set to retire June 21, 2019 after almost 40 years at the school, the Norwalk Hour reported. In his position, he supervises coaches and oversees home games, state championships and other athletics events.

According to the Norwalk Hour, Madaffari was originally hired as a math teacher 37 years ago and was promoted to athletic director 14 years later. In June, he was named the National High School Athletic Coaches Association National Athletic Director of the Year.
