A trooper from the Connecticut State Police Troop G barracks spotted Goldstein's van around 7:30 p.m. on Interstate 95 and followed it while waiting for assistance from other troopers and officers, Podgorski said.

Troopers and Westport police stopped the van, in which Goldstein was a passenger, on I-95 and detained Goldstein until Norwalk police arrived and arrested him.

Goldstein was charged with first-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace. His bond was set at $500,000 and he is scheduled to appear in court next month, according to Podgorski.
