Man Accused Of Tossing Drugs Into Norwalk River: Report

Police said a Bridgeport man is accused of tossing drugs into the Norwalk River as he ran from officers.

NORWALK, CT — Police said a Bridgeport man is accused of tossing drugs into the Norwalk River as he ran from officers Sunday night, the Norwalk Hour reported. The incident occurred after police attempted to pull the accused over while patrolling East Avenue.

According to the Norwalk Hour, police said Jose Montanez, 33, tried to speed away and jumped out of the vehicle after hitting a dead end. The accused was arrested after a foot chase, during which an officer reported witnessing him throw suspected contraband into the river, police said.
