Man Arrested After Brief Foot Chase In Norwalk: PD

Police said a Norwalk man was arrested after officers noticed he appeared to have a firearm in his waistband.​

NORWALK, CT – Police said a Norwalk man was arrested Sunday by members of the Strategic Narcotics Enforcement Team after he was observed standing on Meadow Street with what appeared to be a firearm in his waistband.

According to a news release, police said when officers approached Harlie Thompson, 24, he fled on foot before being apprehended in the backyard of a Meadow Street residence. After a brief struggle, officers recovered a loaded .357 caliber pistol and marijuana from the accused's pants, police said.

The accused was found to be on probation, police said. He was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, carrying a pistol without a permit, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, interfering with a police officer and threatening, according to police.
