Man Charged In Several Commercial Burglaries In Norwalk: Police

The arrest was made after a number of East Avenue​ businesses reported commercial burglaries and thefts​ last month, according to police.

NORWALK, CT — A Bridgeport man was arrested Thursday morning on charges related to several commercial burglaries recently reported in Norwalk, according to police.

In a news release, Deputy Chief Terrence Blake said officers received a trespassing complaint around 8:30 a.m. at a building on East Avenue.

According to Blake, the caller reported the person accused of trespassing may have also been involved in recent thefts at the building.

Police arrived in the area and located Joshua Daniel Jacobs, 25, of Bridgeport. As result of their investigation, officers arrested Jacobs on a charge of third-degree criminal trespass, Blake said.

According to Blake, police were investigating commercial burglaries and thefts reported by several East Avenue businesses last month and identified Jacobs as a suspect.

As result of these investigations, police obtained four arrest warrants charging Jacobs with four counts of third-degree burglary, two counts of criminal mischief and one count of third-degree larceny.

His bond was set at $250,000 and he is scheduled to appear in court later this month.
