NORWALK, CT — A Norwalk man was arrested on assault, threatening and other charges earlier this month, according to police.

In a news release, Police Sgt. Sofia Gulino said Shane Tomlin was charged with second-degree threatening on Oct. 25 and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

A month later, on Nov. 25, Tomlin was charged with third-degree assault, disorderly conduct and risk of injury to a child, Gulino said. As a result, a second warrant was issued for his arrest.

That same day, Tomlin was spotted by officers and is accused of engaging them in pursuit, Gulino said. As a result, a warrant was issued based on charges of engaging police in pursuit, reckless driving and other related charges.

Police learned Tomlin had an additional active warrant out of Westchester County, N.Y. According to Gulino, the extraditable warrant stemmed from charges of violation of probation connected to a case in which he was accused of third-degree robbery.

Tomlin was also wanted out of the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office in Virginia. According to Gulino, Tomlin is accused of "unlawfully and feloniously knowingly and intentionally possessing or transporting a firearm after having been convicted of a felony" in that case.

Norwalk police found Tomlin walking along Soundview Avenue on Dec. 2 and arrested him without incident. He was taken to police headquarters in Norwalk, and both the Westchester County Department of Public Safety and Rockingham County Sheriff's Office were notified of his arrest, Gulino said.

Tomlin was charged with second-degree threatening, risk of injury to a child, third-degree assault, disorderly conduct, engaging police in pursuit, reckless driving, failure to drive in proper, improper turn and fugitive from justice.

Police said in a social media post that "Norwalk Police Department Special Services Division continues to bring cases to successful closure and, in this case, a wanted, violent felon off of our streets."
