Maritime Aquarium CEO, President Relieved Of Position
The news comes only months after the Norwalk aquarium announced her selection for the role.

NORWALK, CT — The Maritime Aquarium announced this week that Maureen Hanley has been relieved of her position as president and chief executive officer. The news comes only months after the aquarium announced her selection for the role in November.
According to a statement from the aquarium, no timetable or process has been started to select a new president, who will be the ninth in the institution’s 31-year history.
Aquarium officials said further details will not be made public due to it being "a matter of aquarium personnel."

Day-to-day duties of the president have been assumed by Chief Operating Officer Dave Truedson and Chief Financial Officer John Joyce, with oversight by the aquarium’s Board of Trustees. This is the process the aquarium operated in for the six months between the departure of former president Brian Davis in May 2018 and Hanley’s arrival in November.
According to the statement, aquarium leadership will "remain focused on animal care, environmental education and marine conservation."
