Maritime Aquarium Seeks Part-Time IMAX Projectionist
There is a physical aspect to the work, especially in changing the large reels of film.
From Maritime Aquarium:The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk is seeking a part-time weekday projectionist to operate its IMAX Theater through the theater’s final year and a half. Needed is a candidate to operate the 15perf/70mm IMAX film projection system on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
“The IMAX Theater will be open through December of 2020, so we still have a good 18 months of spectacular movies to present,” said Aquarium spokesman Dave Sigworth. “The Aquarium is an equal-opportunity employer, of course. But this position might be perfect for someone who’s not looking to launch a career but who wants to earn some money a couple weekdays each week.” There is a physical aspect to the work, especially in changing the large reels of film, and technical or mechanical experience is a plus. Initial employment would be five days a week for intensive training, until the projectionist is ready to solo Tuesdays through Thursdays.
