The April 27, 2016 Mid-Day Music program features Meredith Connie, baroque guitar. The concert starts at 12:05 p.m. and lasts approximately one-half hour. The recital is free but donations are gladly accepted. A light lunch follows for a $5 donation.
Meredith Connie trained as a guitarist at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music (Australia) and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. She began studying period instruments while at the San Francisco Conservatory in 2001, and has since studied lute and baroque guitar with Robert Strizich, Stephen Stubbs and Elizabeth C. D. Brown. As a guitarist Meredith has concertized across the United States and in her native Australia, performing as a soloist with the Octava Chamber Orchestra, Pierce College Orchestra and the Seattle Guitar Orchestra. She works in a number of chamber ensembles and has released two recordings, Sol Y Sombras for solo guitar and guitar and cello, and Imaginary Landscapes for flute and guitar in Duo Rubicund. Meredith Connie is currently head of guitar at TESS music school in Norwalk.
