Mom Arrested for Going Shopping, Leaving 1- and 5-Year-Olds Unattended: Cops
The incident occurred March 29.

WESTPORT, CT - A 33-year-old local mother was arrested on two counts of Risk of Injury to a Minor after she left her 1-year-old and 5-year-old children unattended while she went shopping, according to Westport police.
At about 8 p.m. on March 29, officers found the 1-year-old near Toyota of Westport, at 777 Post Road East, and the 5-year-old at Walgreens, 880 Post Road East.
Details about the circumstances surrounding how the children were found were not disclosed, but police said the children were found separately by adults in the areas who contacted the department.

Arrested was Natalie Bonny, mother of both children.
"Officers determined the juveniles were siblings with a home address of 655 Post Road East," police said in a statement. "Officers located the juveniles' mother, Natalie Bonny, at her residence. Bonny stated she left the children home alone to take the bus to go shopping."

She was held in lieu of a $20,000 bond, and the state Department of Children and Families is continuing to investigate the matter, according to police.
