Woman Arrested After '24-Hour Challenge' In Norwalk: Report
Police said a Norwalk woman was arrested after she and her juvenile son attempted to stay up all night for a "24-hour challenge."

NORWALK, CT — Police said a Norwalk woman began acting erratically in her apartment building's lobby and was arrested Saturday morning after she and her juvenile son tried to stay up all night for a "24-hour challenge," the Norwalk Hour reported.
According to the Norwalk Hour, police said Nicole Barstow, 31, smashed a large window and was brought to a hospital, where she allegedly kicked an officer in the neck. Police said her son was found unresponsive in the apartment, but it was determined at the hospital he was just exhausted.
The popular Internet challenge is also known as the "24-Hour Fort Challenge." Though they were attempting to stay up at home, the challenge typically involves young people attempting spend the night in businesses, such as McDonald's or Chuck E. Cheese, while they are closed.

The challenge can be traced back to a video from 2016, in which two teenagers attempted to spend the night at an IKEA store.
There are other versions of the challenge in which participants will attempt to spend the night in locations such as their pool or balcony, or the house of someone they know without telling them.
