Museum of Darien Announces Free Admission Throughout July 2026 in Honor of America250
Residents and visitors alike are invited to connect with the local stories that helped shape the nation's journey over the last 250 years.

In celebration of the United States’ semi quincentennial, the Museum of Darien is proud to announce it will offer free admission to the public for the entire month of July 2026. This initiative serves as a gift to the community, inviting residents and visitors alike to connect with the local stories that helped shape the nation’s journey over the last 250 years.
The focus of this celebratory month is centered around the groundbreaking exhibition, "War Comes to Middlesex: A Revolutionary Exhibition." This immersive showcase offers a fresh, poignant perspective on how the Revolutionary War transformed the landscape and lives of those within the community. Through a meticulously curated collection of artifacts and personal narratives, the exhibit highlights the pivotal role of Middlesex Parish in the fight for American independence.
Curators Ken Reiss, Al Miller, Lynn Shepard and Michele Mengwall shared their thoughts: "As we mark this historic America250 milestone, we wanted to ensure that our local history is accessible to everyone. By waiving our standard admission fees for July, we hope to welcome neighbors and history enthusiasts to explore the incredible resilience and spirit of the people who lived through the Revolution right here in our own backyard."
