Music, Dance, Theater Performance Wednesday from Troupe with Disabilities

An announcement from STAR, Inc., Lighting the Way:

Theater of STARs, a theater group of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities from STAR, Inc., Lighting the Way… will present a performance of music, dance and theater.

The show will take place at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 3 in the Concert Hall at Norwalk City Hall, 125 East Ave., and is open to the public. Tickets are $3 in advance and $5 at the door. For tickets, call 203-846-9581 ext. 339 or visit www.STARct.org.

STAR staff members Nancy Armstrong and Mark Minnock created the Theater of STARS program nine years ago for adults served by STAR, and each year the number of participating performers has grown.

This year, nearly 50 STAR performers from Norwalk, Westport, Weston, Wilton, Darien and New Canaan will participate in the show. Audience participation is encouraged.

STAR, Inc., Lighting the Way is a not–for-profit organization established in 1952 to serve individuals of all ages who have intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as providing support services to their families.

STAR creates opportunities for individuals to live full lives with independence, freedom of choice and personal growth by providing support, services and advocacy. The organization serves over 600 individuals from birth through their senior years in Norwalk, Darien, New Canaan, Wilton, Westport and Weston.
