Nearly 100 Customers Still Without Power In Norwalk: Eversource

More than 90,000 electric customers in CT were without power into Wednesday morning.

NORWALK, CT — A powerful series of thunderstorms and even a tornado wreaked havoc across parts of Connecticut Tuesday into Wednesday, resulting in two deaths, several injuries and knocking out power to more than 120,000 residents at one point.

As of 8 a.m. on Wednesday, still more than 90,000 people were without power.

According to Eversource, approximately 93 customers (0.3 percent) in Norwalk were without power as of Wednesday at 1 p.m. Though still a relatively high number, it is an improvement over the previous night.

Norwalk police meanwhile took to Twitter twice Tuesday to report downed trees in various areas of the city. One was partially blocking Nursery Street near New Canaan Avenue, while another in the area of 124 Chestnut Hill Road involved wires, police said.
