New Assistant Principal Named At Norwalk Elementary School

The Norwalk Board of Education recently appointed a new assistant principal, as well as a new executive director of leadership development.

NORWALK, CT — The Norwalk Board of Education approved the appointment of a new executive director of leadership development and a new assistant principal of Wolfpit Integrated Arts School during a special board meeting Tuesday.

According to a news release provided by Norwalk Public Schools, Alison Breedy-Johnson will join the leadership development team alongside Executive Director of Leadership Development Mary-Anne Sheppard.

Breedy-Johnson recently served as the deputy superintendent for the New York City Department of Education's CUNY/Urban Assembly High Schools and brings nearly 25 years of experience in
education to Norwalk Public Schools, district officials said.

Scott Santaniello will serve as the new assistant principal of Wolfpit Integrated Arts School after most recently serving as a math instructional coach at Naramake Elementary School in Norwalk, according to district officials.

Breedy-Johnson began her education career in 1999, teaching fifth and sixth grade students at Castle Hill Middle School in the Bronx, N.Y., for 10 years. During that time, she also had her own law practice in White Plains, N.Y., for seven years.

Prior to her current role as the deputy superintendent, Breedy-Johnson served as the tenured principal at the Urban Assembly Academy of Government and Law for eight years, district officials said.

Santaniello joined Norwalk Public Schools in 2008 as a third grade teacher at Naramake. He stepped in shortly to serve as acting assistant principal of Cranbury Elementary School last year.

Santaniello also serves as the TEAM District Facilitator Assistant for the district, working with college teaching programs and Norwalk administrators to assist in placing interns and student teachers in the district’s schools, district officials said.
