NHS Marching Bears Win State and Regional Championship
Norwalk High School Marching Bears win US Bands competition.

The Norwalk High School Marching Band brought home the first of their quest for three championships Saturday night, winning both the Connecticut State Championship and the New England States Championship at the US Bands New England States Championship competition held at Veterans Memorial Stadium in New Britain Connecticut. Performing their 2017 field show, "Relics", the Norwalk High School Marching Band bested schools from around the New England region, posting a score of 94.85 out of a possible 100.
The Norwalk High School Marching Band is made up of over 175 student musicians and color guard members from Norwalk High School. The students have been rehearsing and performing since August, putting in over 20 hours a week perfecting their show. "We are incredibly proud of our students and the work that they have put in" said Chris Rivera the Norwalk High School Band Director. "We are proud to represent the City of Norwalk with our program and delighted to be able to claim the titles of Connecticut State Champion and New England States Champion to our tradition of excellence and winning" Rivera went on to state.
The ultimate goal for Norwalk is a victory at the prestigious US Bands National Championship, which will be held at Met Life Stadium in New Jersey on November 11.
