Norwalk Bank Robber Sentenced

It isn't the first time the man went on a bank robbery spree.

NORWALK, CT — A bank robber who was from Shelton was sentenced to more than 15 years in prison after he robbed four Chase banks last year.

Scott Taylor, 47, stole about $24,300 in total form the four banks, according to the U.S. Attorney District of Connecticut office. He pleaded guilty to one count of bank robbery in January 2017.
He robbed the Westport Chase Bank on Main Street June 2, 2016, a Boston Post Road location in Milford on June 24, a Washington Street location in Norwalk on July 6 and finally a Stratford location on July 13 of the same year, according to the U.S. Attorney's office.
He was apprehended at the Stratford train station shortly after the July 13 robbery. Officials found him with nearly $1,000 in cash and 33 folds of heroin, according to the U.S. Attorney office.
Taylor was sentenced to a little over three years in prison in 1999 after he robbed three banks in Connecticut. In 2006 he was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment with 12 years to serve for a Milford bank robbery in 2005.
He was released from prison in February 2016 and began serving a three-year probation term.
